Has anyone attached two 6″ x 6″ end on end? The project will be a pergola that covers the deck, so the load is actually minimal. There is vinyl railing that surrounds the deck to about 36″ about the deck surface, and the posts extend to about 40″ with a decorative cap on top. I don’t want to tear up the deck too much to do.

1 We are having our two story deck fixed. The deck is built on the downward sloping side of a hill and the footings were failing. The footings were replaced with much larger tube-formed footings. How to connect two 6×6 posts together? I am building a solid frame for a 6’x10′ greenhouse. The interior of the greenhouse is really low, so I thought that I would be using a solid frame to raise the greenhouse by one foot off the ground. I am using treated 6x6s to achieve this, however I don’t know how to connect these monster together. Any ideas?

Nantucket Island Base Trim ~ Deck Expressions Has anyone attached two 6″ x 6″ end on end? The project will be a pergola that covers the deck, so the load is actually minimal. 3-story porch (wood frame) – Structural engineering general discussion – Eng-Tips The porch is now on a trailer and just needs put in position. I need to dig post holes and put roughly 3′ 6x6s in the ground and attach them to the existing posts. I’m wondering how you all would recommend me attaching then together. Like a straight cut and angle some screws, notch the ends and screw together, or use a metal bracket of sorts.
